Like someone else said I think it's worth it to brush a gmt but I wouldn't do it to a datejust again. If you do it, it's no problem to return it back to the original finish again as long as you find a competent watch tech to do your work.

Much prefer the brushed lugs which were oem on that year watch. Don't like to polish the lugs to make something look more modern or otherwise. Plus the polished surface shows scratches far easier.
