Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. What would be a realistic wait time for #126234. I want to buy it for my 40th for myself. I have no purchase history.

Silver dial fluted on jubilee in honor of the upcoming birth of my son. Plan is to pass it on to him when he graduates college. Coming up to a 5 year wait (including the time waiting for the previous reference) on a submariner (standard, no date) though, without a peep. I have ordered a date just 36, fluted, silver bezel.
