I wanted to write out a fairly detailed review of the 2021 Rolex Explorer 1 – 124270 which was released in April of this year. Here is the new 40mm Explorer ref. 224270. This is the Explorer I’ve been waiting for. perfect for my wrist (~7 inches) and as nicely proportioned as the 124270, which I owned, but could never warm up to the size. The Rolex Explorer I 39mm ref 214270 is a remarkable watch that represents the pinnacle of Rolex’s expertise in crafting reliable and iconic timepieces. From its release in 2010 to its redesign in 2016 and eventual discontinuation in . But the truth is, I absolutely love the Explorer range (1 and II) as well as the Sub (especially the no date). And I feel it would be great to have at least one Rolex in my collection (even if I never buy a second Rolex in my lifetime).

I've been looking at 39mm Mk 2 Explorers for a while but haven't pulled the trigger. I thought I'd make a quick comparison shot to see the differences (new on the left, old on the right).
Die Rolex Explorer ist ein Meister der Zurückhaltung. Nie aufdringlich, schön schlicht, sportlich angehaucht, zu so ziemlich jedem Kleidungsstil tragbar. Der Tragekomfort ist extrem gut, man merkt sie eigentlich kaum. The 36mm Explorer 1 was my first Rolex and I happily wore it for about five years. My wrist is 8" and it seemed absolutely fine (until I tried a Panerai, but that's another story). Its a great watch with a decent history, so I say go for it
