Comparing a Rolex to any high horological brand is going to be apples to oranges in comparison. Rolex movements are not as ornate nor were they meant to be on the level of Patek and even A. Lange.. Overall, a Rolex is high quality, durable and reliable. The last five to six years have been a roller coaster for Rolex prices. With increases anywhere from 30% up to 200% outside of the Rolex Authorized Dealers (AD’s), many prominent watch journals have made claims that this cheapens the brand. I’m about to disagree. Now, hear me out - from the brand’s perspective. In my years of owning multiple Rolex models, I have noted a couple of seemingly common quality control issues that continue to exist. The first issue relates to dial quality. I've purchased 12 Rolexes and none have had any quality control issues. Rolex is unusual in that it makes nearly every part of its watches, but if even one sourced component or material is delayed or unavailable, everything can stop. And even simple, time-only mechanical watches contain over a hundred tiny parts. Surprisingly, they feature a Rolex Air-King with a very distinct error on the dial. While not so obvious at first sight, the watch comes with two "9" markers, insted of having the corresponding "3". What is your opinion on this?
